Trying to Look Ahead for the Blog for 2018

My regular readers may have noticed that I did something a little different today… I made a small post about today’s episode of the Case Closed anime, briefly explaining the episode and sharing some of my thoughts.

I know that for a while now, this blog has been focused very heavily on anime and manga news, and not as much on discussion of anime and manga. When Crunchyroll started streaming Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199 a few weeks back, I decided I would make posts about each episode, since I could not only talk about the episode, but I could also make comparisons with the original Space Battleship Yamato.

Now that I’ve been doing these write-ups for a few weeks, I decided that I would expand out to also write about the simulcasts I’m watching for the Winter 2018 seasons. Unfortunately, since my time is limited due to work and family commitments, I’m not able to watch anywhere near the same number of shows as I was a few years back.

For the Winter 2018 season, I plan on covering Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199, Case Closed, and Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line (the fourth season of Yowamushi Pedal). This season of Yowamushi Pedal is supposed to be launching in Japan on January 8, and I expect Crunchyroll will start simulcasting it shortly thereafter (still waiting on Crunchyroll’s official announcement, though).

I hope that over the course of 2018, I will also be able to find the time to read more manga again in order to finish off more series and share my thoughts on them. Binge watching older anime series would also be nice to start doing again. Right at this moment, I have another project I’m currently working on that’s not anime or manga related, and I’m hoping to pick up on more anime and manga reviews and discussion after finishing that project. At this time, I have no idea how much longer that’s going to take. One other goal I have is to try to write more list articles… it’s been months since I last wrote one.

So many hopes and goals for this year. Let’s see how much of this I can actually accomplish…
