Kirby Manga’s Original Artist Returns With New Installment

The winter issue of Shogakukan’s Coro Coro Aniki magazine has published the first chapter of a new installment of the Kirby (Hoshi no Kirby – Dedede de Pupupu na Monogatari) manga by its original artist Hirokazu Hikawa. The magazine’s next issue will also have another new chapter, along with a “shocking development.” The magazine issue comes with a “Dondon Suikomu Nau” card for the Duel Masters card game with art by Hikawa featuring Kirby.

The manga debuted in 1994, and various authors have continued the series in Coro Coro Comics since then.

Hikawa ended his manga adaptation in 2006. Shogakukan published 25 compiled book volumes for the manga. VIZ Media licensed the manga in 2009, but did not release it. The manga franchise has 10 million copies in print.
