Sentai Filmworks has announced that it has licensed the anime of Ken Akamatsu’s UQ Holder! manga. The anime will stream during the Fall 2017 simulcast season on Anime Strike within the United States and on select digital outlets in other countries. A home video release will follow.
UQ Holder! is set in the world of Akamatsu’s Negima! Magister Negi Magi manga, and takes place years after the earlier manga. The story centers on a boy named Touta who dreams of leaving his small town and moving to the city. However, he must first defeat his teacher, the immortal Evangeline.
UQ Holder! is scheduled to premiere on Japanese television on October 3, 2017.
