Sentai Filmworks has announced that it has licensed Studio Colorido’s feature-length anime film Typhoon Noruda. The company plans to release the film digitally and on home video.

The story of the film is described as:

The film takes place in a middle school on a remote island. Shuichi Azuma, a dedicated student, suddenly quits the baseball team, which leads to a fight with his best friend, Kenta. When a storm hits their school one day, Shuichi meets Noruda, a mysterious girl with a strange necklace, who seems to be somehow connected with the typhoon. Who is she? More importantly, why does Shuichi feel the need to help her?

Former Ghibli animator Yōjirō Arai made his directorial debut on the film, though he previously served as animation director on short anime for Studio Colorido. Hiroyasu Ishida designed the characters and served as animation director. Masashi Hamauzu composed the music.

Typhoon Noruda opened in Japan for a three-week limited engagement beginning on June 5, 2015.
