Anime Expo 2016 has announced that Makoto Shinkai will be a guest at their upcoming convention, and that it will host the world premiere of his latest film, your name. The film premiere will be taking place on July 3, 2016, and is scheduled to take place in a hall that can hold over 3,000 attendees.

Shinkai started creating his own anime titles almost single-handedly, being responsible for the writing, directing, and voice acting. Shinkai’s previous works include She and Her Cat, Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, 5 Centimeters Per Second, Children Who Chase Lost Voices, and The Garden of Words.

The cast includes Ryunosuke Kamiki as Taki Tachibana and actress Mone Kamishiraishi as Mitsuha Miyamizu.

As in his previous works, Shinkai is both directing the new film and writing the script. Masashi Ando is serving as the animation director and Masayoshi Tanaka is designing the characters.
