Nurse Witch Komugi, the 2002-2005 Tatsunoko Production original video anime spin-off of the Soul Taker anime, is returning after a decade as a television series. While it is based on the previous anime, the new Nurse Witch Komugi-chan R series is updating the characters, cast, and designs.

The new “slapstick” story will depict Komugi-chan and her rivals as they juggle their daily lives as students, idols, and magical girls “with laughter and tears(?)” Tatsunoko will animate their concert sequences with 3D CG.

The series is scheduled to premiere on Japanese television in January 2016.
