Japan Expo USA 2014 has announced that anime screenplay writer Gen Urobuchi will be a guest at this year’s convention.

Urobuchi served as the head writer for the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime series, wrote the novel adaptation of Rei Hiroe’s Black Lagoon action manga, developed the plots for the Phantom -Phantom of Inferno- game and the Phantom – The Animation spin-off, and supervised the scripts for the Blassreiter anime. Fate/Zero, his novel prequel to Type-Moon’s Fate/stay night visual novel software, inspired an anime. He also wrote the Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet and Psycho-Pass anime.

Japan Expo USA will be taking place August 22-24, 2014 at the San Mateo Event Center in San Mateo, California.
