Aniplex announced at AnimeJapan 2014 that the anime adaptation of the Hanamonogatari light novel will begin airing on Japanese television on May 31, 2014. According to the announcement, the series will air for five weeks.

The heroine of the story is Suruga Kanbaru, and the story is set after Koyomi graduates from high school.
