The official website for Kodansha’s Young Magazine announced that Yanwari Kazama, the creator of the Taberemasen manga, passed away on October 22, 2013 due to liver failure. He was 36 years old at the time of his passing.

Kazama was born on June 13, 1977. In 1994, he won the Gag Comedy Prize from Young Magazine. Kazama made his professional manga debut with Taberemasen in 1995, while he was still in high school. He continued drawing this four-panel manga for almost two decades. In addition to Taberemasen, Kazama also drew art and four-panel manga in Kodansha’s Friday magazine.

Young Magazine will run three more chapters of Taberemasen before the manga ends in this year’s 50th issue on November 11, 2013.
