Anime News Network is reporting that Erica Friedman, the president of Yuricon and ALC Publishing, has announced that Friedman is stepping down as the events chair of Yuricon. In addition, Friedman has said that she is “giving up, for the moment, hope of publishing anything new,” due to not being able to afford print distribution. In her blog post, Friedman also expressed the opinion that fans “don’t want digital” manga releases.

Friedman founded ALC Publishing in 2003 “to create and disseminate high quality Yuri (Lesbian or Girls’ Love) comics to the worldwide English-speaking audience.”

Friedman says she will continue promoting yuri manga on her Okazu blog, and that she is not “giving up loving Yuri.”
