Anime News Network is reporting that an early unpublished manga by Osamu Tezuka, which he drew in his late teens, has been found. According to the report, this manga deals with post-war societal problems.
Apparently, Tezuka had given this manga to a middle school classmate, who had kept it for six decades. The manga had been displayed in a used bookstore in Tokyo in April 2012, and that Tezuka Productions acquired the manga for about 3 million yen (or US$37,000).
Tezuka Productions confirmed the authenticity of the piece, and said the company had been unaware of the existence of this work until now; they consider this recent acquisition to be an extremely valuable work. Tezuka Productions is looking into the possibility of releasing this manga in the future.
