Jiro Taniguchi’s A Zoo In Winter manga has been nominated for Outstanding Graphic Novel at the 16th annual Ignatz Awards.

The manga revolves around a young man working at a textiles factory who wishes to become an artist. After an incident at a nearby zoo, he moves to Tokyo and tries to get work as an assistant to a famous manga creator.

The winners of the Ignatz Awards will be announced at the Small Press Expo taking place in Bethesda, Maryland on September 15, 2012.
