Manga creator Jun Hatanaka passed away on June 13, 2012, due to an abdominal aortic aneurysm. He was 62 years old at the time of his passing.
Hatanaka was born on March 20, 1950, and made his professional debut as a mangaka with “Tsukiyo” in 1977. However, he is best known for the erotic comedy Mandaraya no Ryouta. Hatanaka received an award of excellence from the Japan Cartoonists Association in 1981 for Mandaraya no Ryouta.
He was also an instructor in Tokyo Polytechnic University’s Department of Manga.
