Anime News Network is reporting that manga artist Mamoru Uchiyama passed away on December 1, 2011 at the age of 62.

Uchiyama made his debut in Ushio Shuppansha’s Kibo no Tomo publication. He went on to launch a manga series version of Jumborg Ace, and also worked on several manga based on the Ultraman franchise.

Uchiyama also created the Little Kyojin-kun baseball manga series, and he worked on the golf manga Dead ni Pin o! for Akita Shoten’s Golf Comic magazine.
