VIZ Media made several manga announcements during their panel at Otakon 2011:
- VIZ is speeding up the Naruto digital releases, with one volume per week for Volumes 36 through 45.
- VIZ is adding Oishinbo digitally for US$4.99, and these releases start on August 1, 2011.
- The simultaneous digital and print releases for Ai Ore! and The Story of Saiunkoku begin on August 1, 2011.
- VIZ is re-releasing Oh Great’s Tenjo Tenge in a 2-in-1 format, and the first volume is currently on sale.
- Omnibus editions for Kekkaishi and Fullmetal Alchemist are also being released. It was noted that the omnibus editions for Fullmetal Alchemist will only go through the first 12 volumes, which is the equivalent of four omnibus editions.
- New Bleach and Naruto omnibus editions are due in August 2011.
- A new One Piece art book, titled, Color Walk 2 is scheduled to be released on November 1, 2011.
- A box set of the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Adventure! manga is currently in the works, and will include eight volumes from the series.
- VIZ is releasing a 10-volume box set for Akira Himekawa’s Legend of Zelda manga on October 25, 2011.
- VIZ is releasing a full box set of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga that includes all 27 volumes in November 2011.
- VIZ has three books relating to Studio Ghibli’s Arrietty in the works: an art book, two “film comics” books, and a picture book. The picture book has a January 2012 release date.
- A new Bleach character book will be released in 2012.
- VIZ is also releasing several shojo manga in 2012: Miyoshi Tomori’s A Devil and Her Love Song, Rei Toma’s Dawn of the Arcana, and Tani Mizue’s The Earl and the Fairy.
- 3-in-1 omnibus editions are in the works for Hana-Kimi and Skip Beat!, which will begin being released in March 2012.
- VIZ will be releasing a manga for Pokemon Zoroark: Master of Illusions in September 2011.
